Abandoning political hatred, BJP government should release farmer leaders from jail : Anurag Dhanda
Ambala, 09 : Senior State Vice President of Aam Aadmi Party, Anurag Dhanda, in a press conference, criticized the BJP government on the issue of keeping Shambhu border closed and arresting young farmer leader Navdeep by filing false cases. Ambala District President Karanveer Singh Laut and Rohit Jain were present with him among others. He slamed the govt and said on the instructions of former Chief Minister and current Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the farmers who were adamant to going Delhi were deliberately stopped. Their path was not only blocked but the BJP government fired tear gas shells on the farmers, lathicharged them and the government even took the lives of some young farmers. Apart from this, many farmers were also injured in the government’s lathi charge.
He said the government deliberately victimized farmer leaders to suppress the farmers’ movement. Ambala’s young farmer leader Navdeep has been in jail for more than three months. His only fault is that whenever farmers fight for their rights, Navdeep lead the movement. Navdeep Singh was not involved in any violent activity which could show any allegation, it was not seen anywhere in the entire movement. But as part of a conspiracy, false cases were filed against the entire farmer leadership and were kept in jail and tortured.
He said many farmer leaders have been granted bail, but Navdeep is being deliberately targeted. Because he is a strong voice of the farmers. These atrocities are being committed by the government to suppress it. On the other hand, the undeclared emergency imposed by the government on Shambhu border & the border has been kept closed unnecessarily. Due to this, people of the city and state are facing problems. Farmers have been sitting peacefully for the last 5 months with their demands, they are not being allowed to go to Delhi. Whereas he has no conflict with the Haryana government.
He said the farmers have no movement against the Haryana government, they just want to go to Delhi. But the BJP government of Haryana is not only stopping them but is also conspiring to harass the farmers, labourers, traders and common man. By closing this border, the BJP government has caused loss to the general public and businessmen and NHI is incurring a loss of Rs 72 lakh every day. Due to unnecessary police action, NHAI has already suffered a loss of more than Rs 100 crore and due to closure of Shambhu border, business in Ambala and surrounding areas has come to a standstill.
He said due to the closure of Shambhu border, there was diversion of govt vehicles which led to excessive oil consumption and loss worth lakhs of crores of rupees. The ambulance and the patient also face difficulty in reaching the hospital. If we look at all these problems, no one benefited from the installation of barricades by the police on the Shambhu border. Due to this, farmers, traders and general public are also troubled and the government is also being disgraced.
He said as part of a political conspiracy, the BJP government has made Arvind Kejriwal a political prisoner and kept him in jail. Aam Aadmi Party stands with Navdeep and all the farmers in this difficult time. Along with this, Aam Aadmi Party stands with the business class and the public who are upset with the deadlock imposed by the government on the Shambhu border. Aam Aadmi Party demands the BJP government to leave aside political hatred and immediately release the farmer leaders from jail.
He said on one hand, an attempt is being made to break Arvind Kejriwal by keeping him in jail and on the other hand, an attempt is being made to break the farmer leaders by keeping him in jail. Aam Aadmi Party is a party of revolutionaries, neither can Arvind Kejriwal be broken by the dictatorship of central government agencies. Nor can this government break the farmer who has the power to produce gold from barren land. The longer they continue this political hatred, the more loss they will have to face in the future. I appeal to the people of the city and villages that this BJP government has troubled everyone, hence they have to answer in the coming assembly elections. In the Lok Sabha elections, they were reduced to half the level and in the assembly elections, BJP has to wipe out Haryana.
