Resolution to Strengthen India’s Skill Ecosystem for Future Needs

New Delhi, 7 Feb : The Skill Leaders Conclave and Skill Fair 2026 was held on Saturday at the Gandhi Satyagraha Auditorium, Rajghat. The event resolved to strengthen India’s skill ecosystem in line with future requirements. The conclave and fair were inaugurated by the Chief Guest, former Union Minister and Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Vijay Goel.
The conclave was organized by Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), Palwal, in collaboration with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and Assam Skill University. Students from more than ten skill universities across the country and over one hundred colleges and schools from Delhi participated in the event.
While inaugurating the conclave, Vijay Goel stated that India can become a developed nation only through skill and innovation. He emphasized that the development of entrepreneurship in the country is essential. Skill universities, he said, are not only teaching in classrooms but are also imparting industry-based skills, thereby strengthening the nation’s skill ecosystem. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has significantly promoted skill development in the country and strengthened this concept. Goel also encouraged students to draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, noting that Gandhi faced many struggles in life and was never afraid of failure. He visited the skill fair and appreciated the skill-based projects presented by the students.
Hosting the conclave, the Vice Chancellor of the country’s first state skill university, Professor Dinesh Kumar, said that skill, innovation, and entrepreneurship will play a crucial role in making India a developed nation. He mentioned that by 2027, 44 percent of skills are expected to change. With this objective, SVSU organized the conclave of skill universities to help strengthen the national skill ecosystem. He further stated that SVSU has presented a model of skill education before the country, which many universities are now following. Professor Dinesh Kumar also announced that a conference of Vice Chancellors of skill universities will be organized soon.
Chairman of the Haryana State Higher Education Council, Professor Kailash Chandra Sharma, called for promoting skills under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by giving recognition to traditional knowledge systems. He emphasized the need to perform work with excellence.
Dr. Raj Nehru, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister of Haryana, said that job market trends are changing very rapidly and that Artificial Intelligence has transformed the skill landscape. He urged students to prepare themselves for future skills.
Vice Chancellor of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, Professor A.K. Nagawat, highlighted the continuous efforts toward skill development in skill universities and pointed out the features of the DSEU model, suggesting that it be implemented in other institutions. He stressed the need for deeper industry collaboration. Director General of Kaushalya Skill University, Professor S.P. Singh, said that meritorious students must be attracted toward skill education.
Dean Academics of SVSU, Professor Vikram Singh, delivered the vote of thanks. Vice Chancellor Professor Dinesh Kumar and Registrar Professor Jyoti Rana presented mementos to the guests. Among others present were State Project Director Professor R.S. Rathore, Professor Sanjay Goyal from Indian Skill Development University, Vice Chancellor Kuldeep Sharma from Medhavi Skill University, and Director Chanchal Bhardwaj from IRAA was present.
