Gupta is active in social service and politics from four and a half decades by conferring honorary doctorate.

California Public University has conferred an honorary doctorate to Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. During the ceremony organized by Rainbow Charities Universal Trust in New Delhi late on Sunday evening, Dr. Sham Lal Anand, Chairman of the Trust and other officials conferred this title to him.
Dr. Sham Lal Anand informed that Sh. Gian Chand Gupta has made significant contribution in the field of social service along with politics. In view of his contribution, the world’s prestigious California Public University has awarded to him the honorary doctorate in business administration. The university accepted his expertise in social work administration.
Sh. Gian Chand Gupta said that he is grateful to the Senate of California Public University for this honor. It is worth noting that Sh. Gian Chand Gupta is active in the field of social service and politics for the last four and a half decades. He is associated with many social, religious, sports and cultural organizations. Along with his business activities, he is also contributing in many charitable works.
Addressing the gathering of recipients of honour in the Talent Honors ceremony of Rainbow Charities Universal Trust, he said that service to humanity is service to the God. Serving the weak, needy, downtrodden people in the society is the greatest virtue. During the speech , he also appreciated the social services being done by Rainbow Charities Universal Trust for the last 14 years. This organization has connected a large number of such people, who have pain in their mind towards the deprived section of the society. Along with this, 100 percent scholarship is also being given by the trust to the financially weak and deserving students.
